1. Who we are and what this policy covers

California Crash Law (the “Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a California law practice operated by Elham Azimy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, retain, protect, and disclose information submitted through calcrashlaw.com, including requests for a personal injury case evaluation, and information collected automatically when you visit the site.

This policy does not itself create an attorney-client relationship. The use and disclosure of information furnished by a prospective client may be subject to California attorneys’ professional confidentiality duties even when the Firm does not agree to represent the person. Nothing in this policy waives those duties.

2. Information we collect

Depending on what you provide or how you use the website, we may collect the following categories:

  • Contact and identifying information: name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and preferred contact method.
  • Accident and claim information: date and location of incident, description of what happened, involved parties, police report status, insurers, and documents or messages you choose to provide.
  • Injury and health-related information: reported injuries, parts of the body affected, ambulance transportation, emergency room visits, and other medical facts voluntarily supplied to help evaluate a potential claim. This information can be sensitive personal information under California law.
  • Communication and consent records: your messages, call or email history, and records showing when and how you gave or withdrew any applicable permissions, including the exact consent text you agreed to.
  • Website and device data: IP address, browser and device characteristics, pages visited, access times, and technical logs necessary to operate or secure the website. The IP address is stored with an inquiry only as a one-way daily-rotating hash used for abuse investigation.

We collect information directly from you when you complete a form or contact us, and automatically from your device when you use the site. We may also receive information from a person authorized to contact the Firm on your behalf. Please do not include Social Security numbers, financial account details, or full medical records in an initial online inquiry.

3. Why we use information

We use information as reasonably necessary to receive and respond to inquiries; evaluate whether the Firm may assist; check for conflicts of interest; communicate about a potential case; seek your permission for an appropriate referral when necessary; provide legal services if engaged; maintain accurate records; protect our systems and users; comply with legal or professional obligations; and resolve disputes.

We do not use details of your injuries or other case-submission fields to create advertising audiences or target you with behavioral advertisements. We do not condition case evaluation on consent to unrelated marketing messages.

4. When we disclose information

We may disclose personal information only as allowed by applicable law and professional obligations, including to:

  • Authorized Firm personnel: the attorney and staff who need the information for intake, conflicts review, communication, or representation.
  • Service providers: our web hosting provider; MongoDB Atlas (encrypted database hosting); Resend (delivery of the new-inquiry email to the Firm); Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection on the form); and Google (Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, aggregate site-usage analytics as described in Section 5), each when necessary to operate the site and intake process, subject to appropriate security and confidentiality safeguards and contractual restrictions.
  • Other attorneys or law firms: if we discuss a possible referral with you and receive your appropriate authorization before disclosing confidential case details, unless otherwise permitted or required by law. Your initial inquiry is not blanket consent to referral or disclosure.
  • Authorities or other recipients: if disclosure is required by applicable law, court order, or permitted under rules governing attorneys’ professional duties.

We do not sell submitted injury claims or lead information to lead brokers or unrelated law firms. We do not share case details with advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If a legal fee may be divided between attorneys at different firms, that arrangement will be handled separately under applicable professional rules, including any required written client disclosure and consent.

5. Cookies, analytics, and Do Not Track

We use cookies and similar technical mechanisms necessary for site functionality, security, and form operation. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie strictly necessary for the anti-abuse challenge on the form page. We use first-party, cookie-free aggregate analytics hosted on our own server: daily counts of page views and form steps by page, with no identifiers, IP addresses or form contents. We also use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to understand which pages are read and how the inquiry form is used: page views, scroll depth, button and phone-link clicks, form steps started, completed or abandoned, and form submissions. These events carry the page type and form step only, never names, phone numbers, emails, accident descriptions or your inquiry reference. IP anonymization is on; Google Signals and ad personalization are off; Google tags are not loaded on the inquiry confirmation page. We do not place third-party advertising or retargeting pixels on pages where injury-intake details are entered or submitted.

Because the site does not allow third parties to track visitors across unrelated websites for behavioral advertising, browser “Do Not Track” signals do not change how it handles information. We treat Global Privacy Control signals as an expression of the same preference.

If the Firm adds cross-site tracking, advertising cookies, or a third party that collects browsing activity over time across different sites, we will update these disclosures and implement any legally required choice or opt-out mechanisms before enabling that technology.

6. How long we keep information

We keep inquiry information for only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, subject to confidentiality, professional duties, recordkeeping requirements, and applicable law. Factors include whether a representation was accepted, the need to identify potential future conflicts, legal or regulatory recordkeeping, and whether a dispute or investigation requires continued retention.

Firm retention practice: inquiries that do not result in representation are deleted or de-identified 365 days after submission, or sooner on request, except for the minimum information needed for future conflict checks. Files for accepted clients are retained under the engagement agreement and State Bar guidance for closed files. Technical server logs are kept for a short operational period. Consent records are kept with the inquiry they relate to. When retention is no longer justified, information is securely deleted, de-identified, or archived as legally appropriate.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction: HTTPS in transit; AES-256-GCM encryption of personal and accident details at rest in the intake system; access limited to the attorney and intake personnel; and logging that excludes personal information. No Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you as California law requires.

8. Your choices and California privacy rights

You can contact us at inquiries@calcrashlaw.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to ask questions about our use of information. We will respond as required by applicable law, subject to appropriate identity verification, attorneys’ duties of confidentiality, legal privileges, and legally recognized exceptions. Step-by-step instructions are on your privacy choices.

If the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, applies to the Firm and your information, eligible California residents may have rights to know or access personal information, request correction or deletion, obtain information about disclosures, opt out of any sale or sharing if applicable, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable, and avoid discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not engage in the sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising described above, so this policy does not include an opt-out link for such practices.

If you previously authorized a proposed referral, you may contact us to ask that we not make a new transfer based on that authorization, subject to disclosures already made and applicable legal obligations. Withdrawing permission does not automatically revoke a separate legal engagement or undo a lawful prior disclosure.

9. Minors

This website is intended for persons seeking legal services or their lawful representatives, not for children to use independently. If an inquiry concerns a minor, a parent, guardian, or other authorized representative should contact the Firm.

10. Text messages

If you choose text as a contact method, you may receive text messages about your inquiry from the Firm. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end messages.

11. Third-party websites

Links to other websites are provided for convenience. This policy does not govern those websites. Review the privacy practices of any third party before providing information to it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or our practices. We will post an updated version on this page with a revised effective date. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as applicable before using information in a materially different way.
